In case you missed it, the Beverly Hills / Greater
Los Angeles Association of REALTORS® Commercial Committee presented its first annual “Commercial REALTOR® of
the Year” awards ceremony on November 18th. The Honorees were nominated by their peers and received their awards for their
significant contributions to the Association and community, through years of volunteer service and commitment to the commercial
real estate industry.
The winners of the 2014 Commercial REALTOR®
of the Year awards were: Ben Eubanks, of Aloha Royal Hawaiian Realty, for Multi-family; Kevin Holland, of Keller Williams
Realty, for Office; David Yashar, of REMAX Commercial & Investment Realty, for Retail; Carmela Ma, of CJM Associates,
for Hospitality; and Brian Brubaker, of Keller Williams, for the Industrial category.
The
event was highlighted by a Commercial Networking brunch, complete with a chef-served custom omelet bar, with champagne and
Mimosas! The idea for launching the Commercial awards program came from the Commercial Committee members, and I couldn’t
be more proud of Vice Chair, Ben Eubanks, and each of our dedicated Commercial Committee Members.
The
guest speaker at the awards ceremony was Selma Hepp, PhD and Senior Economist at the California Association of REALTORS®,
who presented a detailed synopsis of the current economic conditions and commercial real estate markets in the Los Angeles
metropolitan area. It was encouraging to note that generally the trend lines on her charts and graphs demonstrated optimism,
improving demand, upward occupancy rates and higher rents.
